Bruce Hornsby: A First Look
Bruce Hornsby is an American singer/songwriter, pianist, and accordion player. He musical influences range from classical to jazz, from bluegrass to folk, and from Motown to rock to blues to jam band.
His career took off with his now multi-platinum single “The Way It Is,” performed with his first band Bruce Hornsby & the Range. From 1988-1995 Bruce lent his piano skills as a part time member of The Grateful Dead. His time with the Dead proved to be a successful collaboration, bring his own style of jazz-fueled improvisations to help revitalize and refocus Jerry Garcia and the rest of the Dead crew.
